First you got to know where I live, it is 90 miles south of Oregon on the coast of California—it is very hard to get any further away from Hoolywad than here—so to encounter a “star” up here is like, . . . never happen.
At the time (several years ago) I was working part time in a large grocery store, and I was just doing my thing, when I looked up the aisle and saw this guy that looked just like Leonard Nimoy—being pretty outgoing, I walked up to him and said, “Excuse me, I am sure you get this all the time, but you look a whole lot like Leonard Nimoy”.
He turned toward me and focused his gaze on me and replied, “That’s becasue I am Leonard Nimoy . .”.
We shook hands, he gladly autographed the back of a card for me and explained that he was in Humboldt County with Jim Carey filming “The Majestic” in one of our local communities . . . and we chatted a bit about this and that—he had come in for some shopping. A very unpretentious and wonderful guy, I could hang out with him and it would be ok.
I was most impressed by the richness and depth of his voice—he has an incredible speaking voice, absolutely delightful, the only person who I can think of with a similar voice would be Vincent Price, but Nimoy’s is more melodious. If the card he signed ever turns up, I will post it.
I think it was 1991 or 92—I was on a promotional tour with my new product, the HEATSTICK tm Thermal Fan, and I was contacting Stove Stores in the Dublin/Concord area of the Bay Area. I somehow ended up in the same town that Robin Williams was filiming “Mrs. Doubtfire”—a store owner was so impressed with my product, that he excorted me next door to show it Robin Williams (he was buying shoes, not sure how the 2 knew each other)—he was polite, but saving energy did not seem to impress him much. He didn’t buy one, that’s for sure. But it was interesting to meet a “celebrity” by accident, so to speak.
is so that I can thank her for her prayers—I had an experience yesterday that I know was put in motion by her prayer for me—and that is an awesome thing! So thank you very much, I am blessed to have made your acquaitance.
Got no stories to tell . . .
Just a few sad old songs to sing . . .
Looking forward to blending our voices
In up-lifting melody
Ode to Joy would be fun—“Joyful, joyful, we adore thee, God of Glory, Lord of Love . . .”
Gosh, to sing Beethoven—that is so great
Meeting Yeshua, really meeting Him, well, I can’t put it into words—there aren’t any words capable of unfolding the depth of emotion/spirit/love that roils out/about/in my encounter with Yeshua. Life begins, really begins, from that moment onward.
“Behold—I make all things new.”
and he does.
I admire honesty and openness, Johjos possesses both. I wish her all the very best—and anytime I come to 43, her photo/logo will always bring a smile to my heart.
